The decks outside Whitehead Hall are like Brooklyn's famed brownstone stoops: You can sit there and watch all of the campus's humanity parade by. One moment, there's a student musician practicing guitar; the next, an art student is sketching to the sound of a professor in television and radio teaching a small class. The area is a favorite lunch hangout and when the sun is out, makes for a terrific beach. Because the art department's sculpture studios are on the ground floor of Whitehead, the courtyard often become an impromptu ever-changing gallery.
